Ingredients
- 1L apple cider (non-alcoholic)
- 500ml orange juice
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 cloves
- 1 star anise
- 2 slices of fresh ginger
- 1 apple, sliced
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey (optional)
Method
1. In a large pot, Combine apple cider, orange juice, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, and ginger.
2. Simmer gently over low heat for 20-30 minutes, allowing the flavours to infuse.
3. Add the sliced apple and orange during the last 5 minutes of simmering.
4. Sweeten with maple syrup or honey if desired.
5. Strain the spices and serve the wassail warm, sharing a blessing or intention for the season as you drink.
